It sure as hell does when the spaces are public property.

Agreed. The space itself is fair game. I continue to believe it was several busybody professors who took it upon themselves to decide - then exhort students to agree - that a "recuperation space" or whatever was needed for Butler.

If someone argued "hey, don't zip open closed tents" I think it is murkier,
much like opening a car door would be murky.

But the space? With people standing around? It goes without saying. Except that it didn't.

Was it so important that he "recuperate" in the tent city? They guy is a grad student so I'm sure he's got an apartment somewhere -- maybe a nice condo, since Daddy is worth a ton.
Also, if Jonathan Butler believes the University of Missouri is such a hive of racism, why has he been taking classes there for eight years?

Graduate school leads to debt peonage, which explains why universities have such a hard time attracting applicants.

Hey, there were a lot of people who were extremely concerned about whether or not it existed.

I know that the doubt was driven by the right-wing media but, damn it, they should have questioned it.

This is not a victory for the mainstream media. It is a bullet dodged.

They weren't concerned. They were just asking questions.
