Justice Dept. just said it had no idea of any threat.

Sorry to rain on your PC platitudes, but suicide bombers don't kill themselves because they're trying to "seize economic and political power" for themselves ....because, really, what's the point of that if you're dead? Instead, suicide terrorists are invariably motivated by deeply held religious or ideological beliefs (and usually the former). I'm gonna go out on a limb here and and say, yeah, this was largely about religion.

When the United States government decided they wanted the Italian-American Mafia gone they didn't carpet bomb Flatbush Avenue and send troops down Mulberry Street. They recruited Italian men to infiltrate, get information and destroy from within like a cancer. One day, we'll wake up and realize that's the best course of action for terrorism as well. People forget that the Mob was a terrorist as well, especially for any local shop owner that didn't want to pay for "protection." Problem is, our ADD, MMA-loving, blood thirsty culture wants results now, not years from now like these covert operations would need.

And that's one of the reasons tonight is so sobering. That such a coordinated attack could be pulled off without anyone apparently having any idea it was coming makes you wonder what we've been doing the past 14 years. I almost want it to come out that signs were ignored, that somebody fucked up. That's not nearly as bad as being so tragically clueless.

Consider too that France could have the best border security ever and this still could happen. The wretched conditions in the majority Muslim suburbs are a multi-generational plague by this point. The "pitiless" war may well be a civil war.

The civil war can travel, especially if border security isn't taken seriously.

If it was ISIS, it was probably intended as a morale building exercise for the troops in Syria. Sure, we can't really fight back against the drones but we've struck a blow in the infidel-heartland, blah blah blah, insane nonsense, insane nonsense.

I woke up to a death count of127. Has that stabilized? If so, I wonder if they had planned to take out even more. It sounds nuts to say 127 deaths seems low, but considering the nature of these coordinated attacks, on a Friday night in the world's top tourist destination, well, it seems somewhat low.

I'd assume the three dead bombers near the stadium were supposed to have blown themselves up inside during the game, but failed.
