As long as terrorists never attack the United States, it's not that bad.

A pair of suicide bombings struck southern Beirut on Thursday, killing 43 people and leaving shattered glass and blood on the streets, Lebanese authorities said.

At least 239 others were wounded, according to state-run National News Agency.

A would-be suicide bomber who survived the attack told investigators he was an ISIS recruit, a Lebanese security source said. The man, a Lebanese national from Tripoli, Lebanon, was taken into custody after the blasts. He told authorities that he and three other attackers arrived in Lebanon from Syria two days ago, the source said.

Lebanese intelligence believes the bombers could be part of a cell dispatched to Beirut by ISIS leadership, the source said, but investigators are still working to verify the surviving suspect's claim. The three other bombers were killed in the explosions.

In a purported ISIS statement circulated on social media, the terror group claimed responsibility for the blasts. CNN hasn't confirmed the authenticity of the statement.

And of course we saw a "moderate" Muslim kill two American trainers in Jordan as well:

At least five people, including two American trainers, were killed on Monday at an Amman training compound by a Jordanian police officer who fired on them before he was shot to death, the government said.

The shooting in the Jordanian capital immediately raised concerns of a possible infiltration of the training program by anti-American militants.Jordan, a United States ally, has been involved in the American-led aerial bombing campaign against Islamic State targets in neighboring Syria and Iraq for the past year.

Jordanian and American officials said it was premature to speculate on the motive of the gunman, who was identified in official statements only as a Jordanian police officer.

The Jordan Times newspaper quoted an unidentified relative of the assailant as saying he was Anwar Abu Zaid, a 28-year-old police captain and university graduate who was married with two children and was from the northern Jordanian village of Rimoun. The newspaper said residents were in “complete shock” over the shootings and described the assailant as “a very kind person, who is religious but moderate.”

The sad part is that the poor bastard refugees who were fleeing these thugs will catch hell over this. 99% of Moslems just want to be left alone to live their lives in peace like anyone else. The 1% fuck it all up for everyone concerned.

Hopefully the increased frequency of attacks will shame our leaders into working together and being "cynical" enough to do something more than hand-wringing.

You're right in this respect, Sunshine. Only high-level international cooperation can have any real impact. Going it alone doesn't work, as we learned in Iraq and Putin is learning in Syria.
