Yes, just like your heroes predicted in 2008.

You do know the Republicans have large majorities in both the House and Senate as well as governors and state legislature majorities (both houses) in more than 30 states, right?

And can't do a fucking thing with those majorities because they've allowed the people who support Donald Trump to hijack their party.

The Republican Party is in fine shape. Going 2-4 in Presidential Elections isn't the end. If and when they start to lose ground, they'll shift in whatever way needed to return to parity.

They have a large majority in the House due to gerrymandering. More Democratic candidates received votes in 2012 than Republicans did when all the races were combined, and the GOP got just 52 percent of the vote in 2014. Their Senate majority was due to a favorable electoral map in 2014. They will have an extremely unfavorable map in 2016, something like defending 24 GOP seats in purple states to Democrats defending 10 seats in blue states.

Take away Citizens United, and not allow corporations to buy speech, and the Republicans lose on their ideas, or rather, lack of them, and their lack of success.

    Technically, they've gone 1-5.

Let's say Clinton wins in 2016. That means more Americans voted for the Democratic candidate in 6 out of the last 7 elections than the Republican candidate.

    No, technically they went 2-4.

I'm also not in the habit of giving credit for wins that haven't happened yet, especially when it looks an awful lot like a coin-flip.

You do know Gore had a half-million more votes than Bush did in 2000, right?

Which leads to my point again. More Americans have voted for the Democrat in five out of the last six presidential elections. And the one that the GOP did win, they needed fear from a terror attack, a war based on lies, and a bunch of Orange Alerts to pull it out.

You do not win American elections on the popular vote. Therefore, winning the popular vote does not mean you "technically" won the election. This is not arguable. Does the popular vote mean anything? Well, not particularly, because resources aren't spread in such a way as to chase the popular vote.

But even if we go with that, and Democrats have been the preference in 5 out of the last 6, that's still not wildly interesting to me in terms of proof that the GOP is on the way out. That's an exceedingly small sample size, and one purposefully cherry-picked to make the data look best. They may be on a 1-5 streak, but you could also choose 1-3, or 4-5, neither of which are quite as scary.

Gerrymandering. Always the cry of a clueless loser.

The nationwide HofR vote is even less informative than the presidential popular vote. But, you know ... GERRYMANDERING!!!!!!!!!
