EVERYONE is afraid of Muslim terrorists. What so many people are failing to grasp is that the Muslims who are also terrorists are a pretty small minority. Obviously not small enough, but it's not the religion that is the problem. It's ISIS (and other factions') interpretation of it. And I'm not sure what 3OF is proposing, but asking billions of people to renounce a religion because of the way people are interpreting it seems a bit extreme. Though certainly not to the level of Islam, there are some pretty controversial ideas in the Bible as well. Thankfully, most of us have evolved.

This is bullshit. The religion itself is not anything to be afraid of. See my previous post.

The fears are normal. The national panic is not who we are.

Why don't you just admit that you're a fucking racist already, WT? That you're racist, and you think it's perfectly acceptable. Then we can at least have these discussions honestly.

It would be nice is if they would renounce it. It seems like that would be likely to have at least a certain amount of impact on those certain factions, but I don't expect it to happen. As you say, it's too extreme. But really, it's no more extreme than what's being done to and with it by those certain factions.

Now, if you'd all be fine with family members of yours converting to Islam, well, they can have at it.

I would not be OK with it. If that makes you consider me a bigot, well, I would be OK with that.

I only read until the fourth graf before stopping because the writer's premise is full of shit. And here's why:

He says that Bush's surge reduced al-Qaida to 700 members in Iraq. Which sounds nice and all, until you realize that there weren't any al-Qaida members in Iraq before Bush fucked Iraq up.

Islam is something to be afraid of, as is Christianity. Christian sects over the centuries have been as brutal as ISIS. Mostly, as a result of the decline of State sponsored Christianity, Christian brutality has waned. But it's ugly side can reemerge.

    (N)ope.

Cute, DW :). Between the two of us, you're the real racist, so why don't you get lost.

Again, tony, not everybody is bound by their political allegiance the way you are.
