You're absolutely the most racist person on this board. It's vile.

Would you be okay with a member of your family converting to any other faith? I'm not sure I buy that.

How is it a mistake to infer that you and others are afraid of Muslims when you say that Islam is something to be afraid of in the very next sentence?

Sure, if I knew they really believed in it, were ready to do it, and it seemed to be good for them.

That's the point. You all are reading a lot more into people's, to me, seemingly pretty sensible cautions about Islam, than there might really be, you know, in your haste to consider everyone who doesn't pretend to be a paragon of inclusiveness not matter what a bigot.

I said we're not afraid of all Muslims. But, of course, you know that.

No shit. Jesus. Is it really that difficult to discern between Islam and ISIS and other extreme factions' interpretation of it? There are many interpretations of the Bible as well, though certainly not to the extreme of executing non-believers (as of now). I honestly don't get it. I think there are quite a few people here who could learn something if they actually took some time to read the posts on this thread. The Atlantic piece, particularly.

We're not supposed to be afraid. I thought we were supposed to holster up, hold "Draw Muhammad" contests, and blow away anyone who gets pissed enough to fight us over it.

You are contradicting yourself. At least admit to it when you are caught.

How so? If Muslims renounce the religion, or the extreme factions (as many have), who is that going to influence what ISIS or al-Qaeda or Boko Haram believes? This makes no sense.

When you say there is reason to fear members of a certain religious group just because of their faith, that is bigotry. When you suggest taking some action against all members of a certain religious group, that is bigotry. When you suggest that all believers in a certain religion should renounce their faith, that is bigotry.
