They don't count how, they count how many.

I won one of those stinkers this week, too, and Shady's big night propelled my eighth-place team not only to a win but to the best score in the league for the week (it was really no better than respectable, but everyone else tanked, too).

So now that team is still in eighth, but at 5-6 it's only a game out of the last playoff spot.

My first place team had a horrendous week (54 points) and lost, but is still safely in the playoff fold.

Now comes the hard part. I need QBs. Luck is still out. I have Carr on one roster, but Flacco was my guy on another and now he's gone. And Rivers was my third starter, and my faith in him is dwindling fast.

In one league Stafford and Bortles are both available. I'm leaning toward Bortles. I'm also thinking about grabbing Brian Hoyer against the Saints for two (or maybe all three) teams. Hey, it worked with Kirk Cousins.

    Thoughts?

    Grab Bortles. Now.
We discussed this at length a few pages back, but Bortles is quietly having a great fantasy season and has an insanely soft schedule the rest of the way. Games with the Chargers, Titans, Colts, Falcons, Saints and Texans remaining.
Don't think. Don't blink. If you need a quarterback -- and especially if you're picking between him and Stafford -- Bortles is your guy.

Yeah, I was in that discussion. Just being indecisive and needy and looking for confirmation.

And the discussion of how many points you score is interesting but an exercise in futility. There is no rhyme or reason to fantasy football. The W is all that matters

Except for this week, since I need to win, have a team in front of me lose and outscore said team by like 40 points. Longshot, but a chance is a chance.

Fell to 1-9-1. It's so ridiculous I have to laugh now.

Have not guessed right yet on Lacy/Starks. Picked three wrong wideouts and had a big miss with Hauschka over Gano this week ... and lost by 1.3 points.

I'm in line for the top draft pick, but only if I want to strip my keeper franchise. And it's the same bunch I won the title with last season.

Big week coming up. I'm 8-3 and in second place in one league and facing the third-place team that has a 7-4 record. A win seals the bye for me. A loss could force me to play the first week of the playoffs.

My biggest concern right now is that, with Edelman done for the season, teams might be double-teaming Gronkowski on every play. I also desperately need Freeman and McFadden at 100 percent. I've got Gore and Yeldon as backups with good matchups, but Freeman and McFadden are my horses.

Two important games for me coming up. In my 14 team league, I'm in 5th (6-5) playing the #7 (also 6-5). The #4 team (7-4) is playing the #2 team (9-2), so my win and his loss could move me into a playoff spot (top 4 are in the championship bracket).

In my 8 team league, I've been getting my ass kicked but have moved up to 6th after about 8 weeks in the basement. I'm playing the 5th place team, and while six teams make the playoffs, I'm only one game up so I need to keep winning.

Good luck to all (except my opponents)!

After starting 1-8, I've now won two in a row to climb out of last place in my 12-team league.
Is it weird that I'm kind of disappointed with this? I wasn't going to tank, but a small part of me was hoping for 1-15. If you're going to suck, then do it right.

If I'm going to miss in our league, I'd rather miss in fifth or sixth than in the bottom four. Gets you out of that consolation bracket. I don't want any part of finishing dead last and having to deal with the repercussions.

I'm sitting in second, 8-3 facing first place team (10-1) this week. Just snagged Ware off of waivers just incase West doesn't go 100% and also Hoyer, because well it's the Saints. This week I will start two players who I originally drafted.
    Potential lineup:
    Wilson (drafted for)
    Langford
    McCoy
    OBJ (drafted for)
    Calvin Johnson
    Barnidge
    West
    Santos
    Def - no one yet.

    Bench
    James Jones
    Graham
    Osweiler
    Hoyer
    Starks
    Ware
    Hurns
