Presuming Wilder/Kitscho ever happens. Boxing has a most annoying knack for delaying the really obvious fight everyone knows should happen until it really doesn't matter much anymore. (see Mayweather/Pacquiao as Exhibit A). Wonder if we'll see the same game here.

There's not really any reason at all to think Wilder-Klitschko would be an entertaining fight. Klitschko, a boring fighter on his best day, is going to be 40 soon, and has noticeably shown his age a few times recently.

Wilder looked fine enough on Saturday, from what I saw, but he screams "Michael Grant" to me.

Heck, Michael Grant's resume pre-Lennox Lewis surpasses Wilder's thus far. Wilder is a violent KO waiting to happen. Questionable chin and a tendency to pull straight back with his hands down going into the ropes. And another thing to consider... his mandatory challenger is Alexander Povetkin, the No. 2 heavyweight in the world who has been on a good run since losing to Klitschko. I'd favor Povetkin in that fight.

Wilder's opponent on Saturday was tough as nails but he was slow, stood right in front of Wilder, didn't have much pop and had all the mobility of a man in a sack race. And he still landed some decent, clean shots early.

Yep. I'm. not sure Wilder gets past Povetkin. We'll see.

Tyson Fury is a great name for a Heavyweight champ.

Appears our new Heavyweight Champ is quite the wingnut:

"There are only three things that need to be accomplished before the devil comes home. One of them is homosexuality being legal in countries; one of them is abortion; and the other is pedophilia."

"But I believe a woman's best place is in the kitchen and on her back. That's my personal belief. Making me a good cup of tea -- that's what I believe."

    Isn't that a week-old story? I couldn't get through it.

It was in the Times last Sunday, a tough read, to be sure. Reading it I was reminded of the Prichard Colon fight last fall on Premier Boxing Champions where he ended up in a coma.
