That's equally true of the conservative movement in the United States. Any solution you want to apply to Muslims equally applies to them.

Oh, and just a by the by ... Of course we could appease Islamists. And of course we could eliminate people having ready access to handguns, assault rifles, whatever.

That's 70k a year with a sweet public pension, if he could have deferred the whole shooting for a few years.

Would mass murder necessarily be a disqualifier? The baby could be set up pretty well.

The LA semen-cookie teacher gets to apply for his pension after his release. Anything's possible in CA.

Edit - here's some more info on the semen cookie guy payout. I'm too disgusted to read

I still don't feel any desire to go out and assault Muslims.
Is there something wrong with me?

Well, let's take a look at how people who oppose the Conservative movement treat conservatism.

They don't try to appease it. They try to beat it; politically, legislatively, judiciously, and in the arena of ideas.

We never here pro-choice folks respond to an abortion clinic shooting by declaring the pro-life movement to be a beautiful, peaceful movement.

Second Amendment opponents don't look at the Constitution as a hinderance to the reforms they want to institute. Hell, you want to tear up the Constitution to deal with the gun issue, among other issues.

So, why do we try to appease Islam? Why do we wonder what we did to anger them? Why do we insist on calling it a beautiful, peaceful religion.

And, since Islam is not just a religion -- it is an all encompassing belief system -- why don't we try to defeat it in the arena of ideas?

Why did we institute trade bans on South Africa for it's system of Apartheid, but we do nothing about the treatment of women, gays, or "apostates" in Islamic nations?

Why do we not speak out against female genital mutilation?

    No.

But, there is something wrong with Islam that things like cartoons of their Prophet drive them to murder.
