NYT doing an A1 op-ed tomorrow on gun control -- three days after the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil since 9/11.

    Two things:

It should be embarrassed they're drafting off the tabloids' heat.

Can 't wait for the op-ed on fighting terrorism prompted by the latest automotive recall.

If it's the VW recall, then we already know that addressing global warming is a "powerful rebuke to the terrorists." At least an embarrassingly stupid moron said so.

It's an editorial and I'm reading that it's their first A1 editorial in 95 years.

Yep. The institution that printed the Pentagon Papers is now carrying water for an administration's pet cause -- to ignore the risk of Islamic terrorism and exploit its practice to push for gun control. Not that there was much to be proud of in journalism these days, but this is a new low.

    Wow. That's a terrible editorial.

    "The risk of Islamic terrorism."

I think the final tally of gun deaths vs. Islamic terrorist deaths in America this year is going to run about 10,000 to 14, give or take.

Yep, completely ignored it. Except in the first fucking paragraph. Oh, but they didn't say ISLAMIC.
And never mind that an estimated 85 percent of this country support background checks and the majority would support some form of reasonable gun control.

All decent people feel sorrow and righteous fury about the latest slaughter of innocents, in California. Law enforcement and intelligence agencies are searching for motivations, including the vital question of how the murderers might have been connected to international terrorism. That is right and proper.

Sorry, there's plenty of evidence from the last 20 years behind my thoughts.
