Even Scalia is deferential to international law.

The Japanese internment camps, through our eyes today, are one of the most shameful episodes in American history. Do I really need to explain that the country has progressed a little in its social views and race laws since the 1940's?

Nigger, kike, greaser, Christ-killer and similar slurs were fairly commonly used, and the only push back against them was if the guy you said it in front of punched you in the mouth. Jim Crow was the law of the land. If you use those words today, you get socially unacceptable very quickly, except among toads like yourself.

FDR was also responding to the opening of an all out conventional war. The country, particularly the west coast, was having fits of panic and hysteria. Xenophobia and racism were the order of the day. The Japanese-Americans, the Nisei, were put in camps. Their neighbors then stole their homes, businesses, and land. You ever hear the one about how the President gets too much credit when things are good and too much blame when they are bad? Roosevelt was not a one man show. Then again, you're just throwing a straw man out there as a distraction from how loathsome Trump is. I hope he *does* get the Republican nomination, because it would serve the Republicans right. I can't think of anything else that would flood the polls with people who detest Hillary and make them hold their nose and vote for her.

Then there's this one - why were the Japanese interned in concentration camps, while the Germans were not? They might have been regarded with some suspicion, but in general nothing like this happened to them.

Do you think it might be because Germans are white?

The 442nd, an all-Nisei Regimental Combat Team of the US Army, was one of the most decorated units of WWII. They fought in Italy and Germany because they were not trusted to fight against the Japanese.

Add in that Trump's "plan", like all of Trump's plans, boils down to "Once we get in there, we'll fix it right. Trust me." He's playing the media like a PR pro. This measure is temporary "until Congress gets its act together". When will that be, 2020? 2030? They have shown no sign of it in a decade or more. Hell, they can't even pass the budget.

We agree to follow international "law" (LOL) at our fucking pleasure. When it becomes inconvenient, we don't, and try to stop us.

Playing the media is a prerequisite for getting elected president.

Remember in mid-2009, when people were complaining about the "Obama Stock Market"?

That's what a privileged white male would say (every critical/Marxist scholar).
