Just watched St. Vincent (Bill Murray, Megan McCarthy) this morning. Was really caught off guard at how much I liked it. Murray might be extending his career by a decade by playing crusty, old guys.

His Very Murray Christmas special on Netflix is on tonight's agenda.

I've always been mostly indifferent to 'Peanuts,' but we were in Santa Rosa for a wedding last year and hit the Schulz museum. I enjoyed it, and made me want to look into some of the old collections.

  4. Mr. Holmes and Spy.

Did Not like Mr. Holmes. BORING. He could have been any random old man dealing with a failing memory. There was no mystery, and only a bit of plot. It took me 30, 40 minutes - looking for a mystery - to figure out what was going on. With all the good resurrections of Sherlock Holmes that come out recently (Cumberbatch, Downey, and Elementary) this one falls way, way short. Skip it.

Spy ... Melissa McCarthy movie. I enjoyed it. Solid comedy, with several LOL moments. Jason Statham was funny too.

I watched "Draft Day" for the second time last night. I think it's a pretty good movie, one of Costner's best efforts. I wonder what NFL GMs would say about it.

"Browns have a good draft? Too unrealistic. One star."

  7. Electric Boogaloo the Untold Story of Cannon.
A two-hour walk down memory lane of 70s and 80s B-movies - T&A, violence and low-budget special effects - brought us courtesy of Golan Globis and Cannon.
I loved every minute of it.

Kingsman. Really, REALLY dug it. More like the old campy spy movies of the 60's, with a ton of laughs and awesome camera work.

Just watched this last night and agree totally. I put it on and kind of thought, "eh, I don't know if I have the attention for a movie tonight, but it's free, I'll give it a shot." Within five or six minutes, it had me. Really good cinematography, all the performances were spot on and it just had an eerie vibe throughout. I couldn't wait to to see what was going to happen.

SORT OF, NOT REALLY, SPOILER ALERT:

Very early in the movie, I surmised that Caleb was going to turn out to be the AI and that he was actually the one being tested. For a moment, I thought I was right, when he's in the bathroom with the razor.

Caught up with "Fury," the World War II tank movie with Brad Pitt and a strong supporting cast.
The beta males who do most of the movie reviewing these days didn't care for it much, but I thought it was effective.
