I'd love to see a President's Middle East policy be "you have to live there - you figure it out. Call us if we can help."

I know. Look at the second half of the 1970s. You had the second gas crisis, the Iranian revolution and hostage situation, as well as the PLO running amok.

Now, simply because of the Israel-Egypt peace deal, we can regard them as the "good old days."

Read a WaPo piece over the weekend that alluded to the fact that Cruz has a superb organization when it comes to the nitty gritty of getting on ballots and boots on ground. A successful primary-season candidate has to do things like get on ballots and fight hard in heavily Democratic districts.

I don't see Trump as having that. Where's his Plouffe ?

He might be leading in the national polls now, but this thing folds up pretty fast when the political grunt work begins and the bombast means less.

New poll out this morning has Cruz 31, Trump 21 in Iowa. What a nightmare for the GOP, which is quite likely to get drubbed in a third consecutive presidential election. Dominating state-level politics, however, isn't a terrible consolation prize.

You'll know Trump is serious about taking down Cruz when the born in Canada attack tweets start rolling out.

Normally those would be attack ads but I believe it is still correct that Trump hasn't spent a cent on TV advertising.

Cruz has a better shot than Trump, though.

Seems kind of Nixonian in the charisma department. (None)

I think he does a better job of presenting far-right views than Trump, though. Not that it's that hard.

Head to head polling out today shows Trump losing to Hillary by 10. (50-40.)

    Rubio beats her. Cruz loses.

That's the best case for Rubio, and might be what helps him the most. But, for Rubio to really do well, Bush and others need to get out.

That's interesting. I was told by an angry green guy here that it was a "dead heat."

What swings it for Rubio? Boyish charm?
