Infusing Mace Windu's dialogue with some Jules would definitely have upped the energy levels of the prequels.

Imagine Mace standing up during one of the interminable Jedi Council snooze sessions:

Anakin: I have discovered a terrible truth. The Chancellor is a Sith Lord.
Mace: That is some fucked up repugnant bullshit!
Anakin: I do not understand what you are saying, Master Windu.
Mace: English, motherfucker! Do you speak it?

 

Not in the promotional material. Not doing near the interviews as Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Chewbacca. As an original cast member, he's being treated like an extra.

Maybe that means he just doesn't have a big part in TFA; maybe he does and they are keeping it under wraps; or maybe JJ just doesn't want Luke Skywalker around.

 

I think that Abrams has been very up front about the fact that Luke Skywalker's role in the movie is being kept purposefully quiet, because it would spoil the plot.

 

Would it spoil the plot to put his face on a poster? Does he have a cold sore or something?

 

Apparently the director thinks so.

It's a marketing gimmick. They aren't purposely fucking over Mark Hamill.

 

Similar to the fandango over whether Nimoy would appear in ST '09, or exactly what character Cumberbatch was playing in STID.

JJ's schtick is veering perilously close to M. Night territory.

So ESPNs marketing agenda has loong been apparent, but they just did a 30-min SC Featured on the evolution of the light saber battle. But they tied it to the kendo world championship so it was sports! I watched every second of it.

 

Watching my copy of Episode IV in honor of buying tickets to see The Force Awakens Sunday. I had forgotten just how bad some of the changes Lucas made look, especially Han and Greedo.

 

How do you feel about Han's integrity and Leia's tendency to break the rules?
