You're right there. The preseason consensus was that with Benjamin's injury, Newton would struggle because he had no weapons outside of his tight end.

    The keys to winning:
    A very good QB
    A very good TE
A very good running game (which includes the QB)
    A very good defense
    Shitty opponents

The Patriots drew the AFC South and NFC East as their unseeded out of division opponents this year. Having shitty opponents is a factor for more than one team. I daresay the Jets, Bills and Dolphins would have worse records if they hadn't drawn that same schedule, too.

The NFL is a dumpster fire this year, between the lousy teams, the awful officiating and the weak play, the NFL is on the clock.

On the clock for what? I'm pretty sure I know what you mean, but I don't want to believe it because it's so fucking stupid. You just mean the countdown clock to the 2016 NFL Draft, right?

You and Blitz should get together Sunday's and discuss how the NFL is about to crash and burn.

The top 12 tv shows this fall are all NFL games. ESPN pays about $100,000,000 per game to the NFL to broadcast MNF.

But its about to crash and burn. And I love that its because of "lousy teams". There were never lousy teams back in the good old days.

There have always been lousy teams. There have been lousier seasons and I had to cover them. If the 15 years in the '80s and '90s where the Super Bowl was a foregone conclusion and the NFC team won, often in the worst game of the season, didn't cause the public interest in pro football to wane, I wonder if anything could.

I have to say I am disappointed. I thought someone else would think that stat was cool.

da man, that is a cool stat (I guess I missed it the first time), but rest assured Eli and Coughlin would find a way to blow it at the 57-minute mark if the games were shortened to 58:14.
