Especially when the attacker is a wheezing flabby fatfuck a 400 pound load of lard who needs an oxygen tank and a wheelchair if he has to walk more than 30 yards to the next triple cheeseburger buffet. It's an extremely safe bet that Barack Obama could kick Chris Christie's jiggling bowls of jelly into next fucking week in any style of fighting that doesn't directly involve suffocating him with his floppy flabby ass cheeks.

    How so?

I'm always curious as to how we're defining our past actions.

The internment of Japanese-Americans is now rightly seen as an abomination. FDR robbed patriotic citizens of their rights. His attorney general lied to the SCOTUS.

It's good of us to not sweep FDR's crimes against humanity under the rug.

I'm curious to know if the folks here look at Truman's decision to drop a pair of nukes on Japan the same way.

Sun night happened upon the House of Commons (UK) on CSpan.

It may be theatre, but what was refreshing was to see the MPs discuss things in a civil manner. It was a Q&A session with the PM (but a Chancellor was a fill-in).

What was especially great to see was the Chancellor say that Muslims have had a long history in the UK and that they have contributed greatly to the country. Damn I wish our representatives and Senators would show as much dignity and understanding.

Yet Donald Trump has held liberal positions on just about every issue except immigration, and he's leading the pack.

He's friends with the Clintons, for fuck's sake!

It might make one think it's not about politics at all for his supporters.

I didn't couple the Japanese internment with Hiroshima. They're 2 separate decisions.

The reasons for dropping the atomic bomb are well known and debated; indeed, one of the most hotly-argued topics of the 20th Century. You can either agree with them or not, but it's really hard to apply to this situation.

That stuff's been going on since the '90s. The 1790s.

The one thing he's been absolutely consistent about for about the last eight years has been nitwit birtherism.

And, he's inspired millions of people to be the awful human beings they always wanted to be, and without the slightest bit of shame.

The fact that translates into a realistic shot at the presidency doesn't say very good things about America.

Well, it is and it isn't. GOP politics, for at least the last 7 years has primarily revolved around this "oh yeah? Well..." chutzpah that Trump carries around like a best friend. It's a grinch-fest. An angry, sour, go fuck yourself and all your liberal friends grinch-fest. It makes money for the conservative mainstream media, and so those outlets trade in it gladly and just presume, late in the game, that a candidate resembling a likable person emerges.

At this point, Ted Cruz - who is nearly reviled by other Republicans in the Senate, who'd be the guy in the locker room other players hazed - has a shot at the nomination. This is mind-blowing. The GOP voters are so conditioned to voting for obstinence and too-pure-for-mere-politics viglantism that he just might grab the nom.

It's not necessarily about policy, Trump's popularity, but it is about politics. That's how far the GOP has fallen.
