I'd have less of a problem with Christie saying that at a luncheon/fundraiser and the press running with it. But in a nationally televised debate? Makes a mockery of our country/government.

If that guy posted here, it would have been a d_b.

If you think the media coming up with that narrative on their own is somehow better, good for you.

Look at the link. I posted it.

So, you have no evidence at all and your assertion was a guess, and a biased one at that. Thank you.

Also, Romney was not a sitting president when that story ran. Making those types of comments about a candidate is not the same thing as making them about the sitting president of the United States.

I'm not saying it is better if a media outlet comes up with such a thing on its own. I'm saying your accusation was completely unfounded in anything but your desire to slam the party you don't like.

It's almost like you have no idea how campaigns and the press work.

    Maybe you don't.

You definitely don't. You keep speaking as if you are some expert on the media, a field you really know very little about.

You could even be right about your claim, but you have nothing to back it up. No evidence. Only a desire to justify behavior by Republicans and attack Democrats.

I worked in politics. Dealt with reporters.

You ever cover politics big shot?

The "wimp" narrative -- for both Bush 41 and Romney -- started somewhere. Does Newsweek look good at all running with it? They either conjured it up on their own, or they are doing a rival campaign's dirty work.

That's about where I'm at, too.

It's funny, this election is here for the taking for Republicans, who will run against either a completely unlikable megalomaniac or an avowed Socialist, following eight years of a presidency that has consistently waned in popularity.

Just about the only thing they could've done to screw it up is hand the keys to a bombastic reality TV star who has the emotional maturity of a 6-year-old and whose only agenda is to malign, hate and/or nuke everyone who's different than he is.

Me too. It's sad, to be honest. Maybe I should join DW on the sideline. You heard he's not voting right? LOL

Yes, I've covered politics. I worked news side as well as sports during my career. Once again, you were posting from ignorance.

You've dealt with reporters, but you have never been one. Sorry, but that is not the same thing. Just as it is not the same thing to insult a candidate (Romney) as it is to insult the president (Bush and Obama). Of course, you dodge that one entirely.

I agreed with you in my "interesting edit" that there is something wrong with those stories. But that's not what I'm talking about. You claimed they came from the opposing campaigns even though you have no evidence at all to support that claim. Please just admit as much and move on. Thank you.
