The meltdown over Trump's acceptance of Putin's "endorsement" is cracking me up.

So, the problem is that Trump isn't tough enough on Putin? Compared to whom? The Obama administration has played patty cake with the guy since day one. (Russian reset, "after my election I have more flexibility", doing nothing in the face of the annexation of Crimea.)

But, now Trump's really done it. On the "shows" this morning, he told the host(s) that he hadn't seen evidence that Putin had killed journalists.

That was too much for the media. They're lighting up twitter. Now it's personal. It might even be on the level of the anger they reached when Obama hit the golf course two minutes after discussing "Jim" Foley's beheading.

 

The right wing screech machine has been swooning 24/7 over Putin ever since Jan. 21, 2009.

Media: You've accepted the praise of President Putin, and said he's a strong leader.

Trump: He is a strong leader, what do you want me to say, that he's a weak leader

Media: But he's killed journalists!!

Trump: I haven't seen evidence proving that

Media: (Meltdown ensues)

 

What the fuck difference does it make what "evidence" Trump has seen of anything?

Guess what: He doesn't get to decide the veracity of anything.

 

I can't wait until we go to war against Russia. WOLVERINES!

 

He wasn't trying to "decide the veracity", instead he was essentially just pointing out the truth of the situation--one can't really address that question without seeing the evidence. Your suggestion that the evidence makes no difference is asinine, if you're gonna grill a candidate about not condemning someone for killing journalists then you damn well better come armed with some details and evidence that the thing actually happened.

I'm hardly one to defend Trump--I think he's a hateful buffoon--but I see nothing wrong with the way he handled that question.

Nothing Trump says about anything deserves to be taken seriously as a conversation between sentient humans. Since everything he says by definition is a lie, it degrades the level of discourse to even tolerate him in it. The only reasonable response to Trump or any of his supporters attempting to butt into any discussion is, "shut the fuck up you cock sucking liar, get the fuck out of here and go jack off to your massive collection of nude photos of your own daughter, mentally competent adults are talking here so we won't need your idiotic lying buffoon ass any longer."

 

Yikes, that is an awfully misleading headline.
