So what's the worse job, considering the ick factor, the enormity of the task, and the consequences of failure:
    1) Being the stormtrooper tasked with digging through the bowels of Cloud City for Luke's severed hand?
    or
    2) Being the First Order trooper tasked with recovering Darth Vader's helmet from Endor and scrubbing out all the bits of burned skull and brain to make it somewhat presentable?

Agreed. It was not as good as the original or Empire. But was better than all 3 prequels and Return.

I don't think it was Vader's head - just the helmet. Is it possible that Luke took his dad's helmet as a reminder of what can happen if you turn to the dark side. Then Kylo Ren stole it at some point?

I'm looking at a pic of it now, and it looks like you may be right. I had seen a couple of things sticking up that looked like teeth, but it may have been the bars from the facemask.

Luke and Anakin's light saber "called to her". Touching it the first time brought visions, because of the connection between her and her father and grandfather.

Why isnt Leia a Jedi Knight?

I guess it's pretty simple - she presumably didn't want that life. She wanted a family, and a military career.

Right, yeah, you're on t something, Being a Jedi Knight would interfere with being a military leader

    Different roles. She's Petraeus. He's a SEAL.

Leia's the most laid-back general you'll ever see. I guess they had to bring back Carrie Fisher, but she just collected a paycheck.

Every character doesn't need to be Hamlet, though. She was a role player. The Jason Collins of the cast.

Then don't have her be the general.

Carrie Fisher can still act and all, but she's sort of outgrown who Leia was.

Finally saw it, and skimmed through this thread. Enjoyed the film, and the commentary on SJ.com does not disappoint.

    My 2 cents:

    * The all-too-brief flashback scene when Rey first touched the light saber was the most interesting part of the movie. Perhaps a few clues in there about her past — and future.

    * I really liked the two battles (one mental, one with weapons) between Rey and Kylo Ren. They whet the appetite for the third and final meeting, when (probably) she takes him out.

    * In the future, even the new Death Star has gone green. Solar power, baby!
