My feelings aren't hurt. You said that "nobody on this board" was either "more intelligent" or "a better writer" than Charles Pierce. I'll take that bet. Shit. I'd take that bet if it was David Foster Wallace or Jonathan Franzen against a field of hundreds, let alone a political hack.

 

By "diverse" I meant that he can do news and sports; country and western.

Didn't mean he fulfills a Gannett mainstreaming requirement or anything. Don't want you to hurt yourself stifling.

 

I'd say that his political opinions fall somewhat short of being "diverse."

I wonder if there are any other reasons that people here and at the I Hate Rachel Greene Club defend him so vehemently.

Pierce used to post here under his own name a handful of times. I mentioned that several years ago. I quickly received a PM from one of his minions, apparently, warning me not to "out Charlie."
