Vice President Biden said Wednesday he regrets not running for president in 2016, but stressed it was ultimately the right call.

“I regret it every day but it was the right decision for my family and for me and I plan on staying deeply involved,” he said in an interview with Hartford, Conn., NBC affiliate WVIT.

It’s one of the first times Biden has publicly conveyed remorse about not jumping into the race to succeed President Obama.
Biden agonized over the decision for months during the late summer and early fall following the death of his son, Beau, from brain cancer.

But after road testing his campaign message and holding dozens of meetings with advisers and family members, he chose not to run, saying it was too late to mount a viable campaign.

In a December interview with Bloomberg, the vice president said it “was the right decision,” saying he was still trying to cope with the death of his son, who passed away at 46 years of age.

“I believed I could win, but that's not enough. I know myself. And I know it takes time,” he said.

The Hill reached a woman by phone in Van Buren, Ark., on Wednesday who identified herself as Broaddrick. She said the Twitter account is hers.

Broaddrick said she set the account up in 2009 but hasn’t used it much since because she’s unfamiliar with Twitter.

Rand Paul joked that ted Cruz was absolutely eligible -- to run for Prime Minister of Canada.

But, John McCain really hates Ted Cruz:

Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, who faced questions as the 2008 GOP presidential nominee about his birth abroad, is now posing the same question to Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas.

In an interview Wednesday on Phoenix radio station 550 KFYI's Chris Merill Show, McCain said he "doesn't know" whether Cruz's birth in Canada makes him eligible to be president. Cruz, whose father was born in Cuba, asserts that he is a U.S. citizen because his mother was an American.

"I know that came up in my race because I was born in Panama, but I was born in the Canal Zone which is a territory. Barry Goldwater was born in Arizona when it was territory when he ran in 1964," McCain said.

McCain added that he was born on a U.S. military base, which he said is not the same as being born in Canada.

"That's different from being born on foreign soil. I think there is a question. I'm not a constitutional scholar on that, but I think it's worth looking into.
I don't think it's illegitimate to look into it."

Asked if the Supreme Court might have to weigh in on the "natural born citizen" issue, McCain said, "It may be, that may be the case."

I'm completely baffled about what makes Cruz's verified origin story different than the one that the right conjured up for Obama to paint his presidency as illegitimate.

    Well, Mooslim Neegro. That's what.

Although, Cruz looks way better in eyeshadow, mascara and rouge. Maybe it's got something to do with that.

Wow. This post is so much more spectacular after the edit.

Anyhow, maybe the doctor's wife did write that bit about cutting the umbilical cord with a hair clip, but why does neither the Yahoo article, nor the Time article from which it is derived, actually quote that part of the book?

They each tell us she says this, but neither quote it. Why?

Seems to me you might clamp the cord with a hair clip, but cut it? That sounds ridiculous. But, when I go to see what she actually said, I can't find it. This just makes me think that whatever she said, they've exaggerated it, since I can't read her actual words.

Nothing. Obama would have been a U.S. citizen even if he had been born in Kenya (if you believe Cruz is a citizen).

But, I will tell you, most of the hard core birthers are not hypocrites on the issue. They will tell you Cruz is ineligible.
