What Dan said. I just don't think in comparison to many others on the list that he is at their level.

    Why not?

Just looking at his comparables and (lack of) accolades. I have high standards for the Hall and one batting title and All-Star teams aren't enough for me. Clearly you don't agree with comparing or ranking the candidates but I do. And Raines would be at the bottom of my list, just above Schilling and Mussina.

You might want to look a little deeper than one batting title.

Seven All-Star teams, to be exact.

    2,605 hits.

808 career stolen bases, fifth all-time, stolen at an 84.6 percentage.

Two-time league leader in runs scored.

    One-time league leader in doubles.

Career oWAR of 68.5, which doesn't even include his stolen bases.

Please explain to me why Tim Raines is not a Hall of Famer. In fact, not only do you not think he's a Hall of Famer, but you think it's preposterous that someone would include Raines in a list of 10 Hall of Famers that they voted for.

I don't think it's preposterous at all. I would not. You know the votes are subjective right? He's borderline. For me, he doesn't cross the border. Please move on.

Then that means you have now walked back your initial argument. I said there a voter could legitimately vote for 10 players on this ballot instead of Ken Griffey, Jr., and that each of the 10 would be arguable Hall of Famers. You argued back that Raines would not.

Yes Im aware. So leading the league in a category once or twice is HOF-worthy? Not in my mind.

That doesn't mean, "... so any vote is the same."

Why doesn't he cross the border? I gave you his credentials. I did your homework for you. Where is he lacking?

In the next five years? Your best shot is going to be Jeter. Rivera would except there will be a couple voters who will hold being a reliever against him. After that the top guys through 2020 are Pudge, Chipper and Thome. So Jeter is the next one to really watch for percentage.

Oh, man. Forgot about good ol' JETES!

What's the over/under on percentage for him?

You could list a ballot of 10 with fair to solid HOF credentials on this ballot that are not Junior. But zero of them have the credentials he does. So the true argument is, are there 10 people on the ballot more worthy than Junior? And anyone even vaguely familiar with the majors would say no. But in the end, I know it's just your sj clickbait thing going on, so c'est la vie
