Bowie's company developed the Yankees website back in the day:

    Bowie Company Designs Yankees Website

UltraStar, the Internet company founded by rocker David Bowie, has created a new official website for the New York Yankees (www.yankees.com). Like Bowie’s own BowieNet service (www.davidbowie.com), the Yankees offer fans dial-up Internet access and membership in an online fan club. “We couldn’t be more pleased to be working with the premier team in all of sports,” Bowie said in a statement. “We hope to deal with one of the most profound unanswered questions in all of sports,” he quipped: “[Yankees teammates] Paul O’Neill can play drums, Bernie Williams can play guitar, but who’s on bass?”

If I recall, when MLB began to consolidate all the MLB team sites, the Yankees were a holdout at first because of their deal with Bowie.

Dave and Luther Vandross are probably belting this out at the Afterlife Cabaret as we speak.

I was surprised that people younger than me were so broken up about Bowie's death.

The flamboyantly gay guy who works the counter at the coffee shop across the street was playing Bowie this morning. Not sure how old he is, but a lot younger than me. He was a big fan, and very upset.

They were playing Bowie at the hipster joint I went for lunch too.
