The new Subway campaign, where they tell the story about how the company started in 1965.

All I think of is Jared Fogle.

One would think the Subway brand is so dominant in the sandwich world that they wouldn't need to advertise. I know where they're located. I know what they sell.

Yet when I see an ad, I think, "how long is Jared Fogle going to be in prison?"

Been watching some late-night TV with the wife lately, and I'm so glad Education Connection is back in my life. So, so many things about this commercial are just wrong. I'm not sure I hate it. I'm more mystified by it and want to know more -- not about Education Connection, but the backstory of these characters.
Start with the random hotty singing about Education Connection while a creepy guy in a fluorescent work vest washes her bedroom window. Does she realize he's there? Does she approve? Is this a turn on for her? Is she just dead inside and doesn't care that there's a 45-year-old peeping tom who's basically broadcasting his presence to the world?
Now the peeper. Seriously, WTF!? Guy stands on a ladder in broad daylight, in a dayglo safety vest, at what appears to be a private residence ... this is illegal in at least 47 states, right?
Next we move on to the crowd of people on the ground singing along. Surely they can't hear the girl singing through the closed second-story window, so were they screaming to warn her about the peeper and became won over by HIS singing? Is this all the fevered dream of the peeper, that he thinks everyone approves of his actions?
This is a rich and wonderful world the Education Connection team has formed. I need to learn more.

The new Captain Morgan ad with stupid video and lyrics to Le Freak. I must be missing something but what in the actual fuck is that?

Speaking of WITAFIT, what in the actual fuck is up with that Old Spice whale commercial?

Not sure I've seen that one but those things have long since jumped the shark.

Oh yeah. That series had the potential to be ok but jumped the rails in the debut spot.

I've not liked anything in the Arby's "We have the meats" campaign, but this latest where the guy goes into histrionics because the curly fries are covered in bacon and cheese is the worst. Makes me want to take a fire ax to the power cord.

I haven't seen that ad, but the idea of loaded curly fries seems like massive overkill to me. Arby's curly fries are great, but loading them up with bacon and cheese? Why? Were people telling Arby's via social media, "Hey, that whole curly fry thing is kinda weird, but if you loaded them up with cheese and bacon I'd be all over it" or something?

I can't imagine putting anything on fries that would make them soggy fries.
