Not holding the WBC title makes you undisputed?

 

You won't see many more crushing KO's than Deontay Wilder vs. Artur Szpilka.

 

The proof is in the banana pudding. That's brilliant.

 

Can't see yours, Steak. This Vine was a different angle from the fight footage I saw.

 

No, beating the guy who owned all the other titles, including the Ring and lineal ones, and who dominated the division for the better part of seven years made him undisputed. I'm not sure one needs to unify even the "major" titles in order to be undisputed.

And, for the record, I'm still not impressed with Wilder. Or Fury, for that matter.

 

It's like college football in mid-November. No one's beaten anyone and everybody sucks.

 

The only difference is, in college football, there usually is someone to beat in order to legitimize yourself. Not sure that exists in today's heavyweight division. They're ALL tomato cans. Wilder just happens to have a KO punch, which may be all he needs, but doesn't make him a good fighter.

 

I'm ready to begin taking Wilder seriously at this point.

 

I think I mentioned this before, but he still screams "Michael Grant" to me.

If I'm wrong, so be it. But I'm not sure there's a fight that would allow him to prove he's not, or one to expose that he is.

 

Speaking of Fury:

 

"I look like a banker in this."

 

There's going out a winner.
And then there's getting knocked out of the ring in your final fight at age 51.
Bernard Hopkins chose the latter path.
