    RIP Iron Mike Sharpe.

FORMER WWF STAR 'IRON' MIKE SHARPE PASSES AWAY | PWInsider.com

My first ever show I attended, he was in the opening match against Brady Boone. He was great at getting heat from the crowd, grabbing the microphone and telling Boone he would give him a chance to leave. Boone didn't, of course, and ended up getting conked in the head with his arm brace with the foreign object in it for his troubles.

He was always fun to watch, with his screaming and hollering. I also remember another match, where they did a heel vs, heel jobber match with him and Barry Horowitz. Sharpe was cheered, and after winning, thanked the crowd, which was bizarre to see.

I've only been to a handful of live events. The Survivor Series at the old Cap Center, 1995 maybe. A Raw in Richmond where Kurt Angle did a backflip off a steel cage. A WCW Thunder at George Mason in 1997. Another Raw at Verizon that was not very memorable. And a house show at the old University Hall at UVA.

Whole lot of meh at those shows.

RIP. I hope they'll bury him wearing that black arm brace.

    Same here.
Went to a WCW Nitro in New Orleans in early 1997, I believe. It was one of the first times Sting did the "drop from the rafters" bit. I remember it more for playing football with my buddies in a parking garage while waiting for traffic to clear after the show. I jumped to block a pass in the 8-foot-tall parking garage, my buddy playing QB tried to throw it over me and drilled me right in the face.
Also went to a Thunder a few months later in Baton Rouge, then last year a WWE house show and a Global Force Wrestling minor league ballpark show. WWE only comes to my area once a year at most, and it almost always seems to be on a Friday or Saturday night when I have to work.
My biggest regret as a wrestling fan is that I spent summers in college at home, less than an hour from Philly, and never made it down there for an ECW show.

Wrestlemania 14 for me, far and away the best show.

Royal Rumble with 40 men makes the list only because it was one of Edge's last matches.

Completely not noteworthy at all but my first house show when I was about 7 all I remember is Ultimate Warrior making a save on Texas Tornado at the end. And asking my dad what we were going to do if we couldn't hear the commentators.

I've only been to a handful of shows, and nothing really significant happened at any of them.

One of the shows I went to, though, was one of Bob Backlund's first shows after coming back to the WWF after eight years. He wasn't on the originally announced card and didn't come out to entrance music or anything. Part of the crowd, I don't think, had a clue who he was.

Then he started the match by offering his opponent a handshake. Someone yelled out for everyone to hear: "They don't do that anymore Bob!"

Ugh, there was a botch. Titus flung Breeze backwards over his head. Henry was supposed to catch him and give him the Strongest Slam, only Breeze just sailed over his head and landed on the mat. Breeze looked like he landed OK, though.

OK, having the Wyatts stand tall at the end. That was cool, and different than their usual have 30 guys brawl until they're outta time.

Will the ever explain why Barrett just stands around looking pretty? Just say that he's got a neck injury, or whatever it is.

Idea for the Rumble: Reigns is No. 1, and Lesnar comes out as No. 2. They basically have their own match for 20 minutes while teaming up to quickly eliminate the next dozen or so guys who come out. Eventually the Wyatts and League of Nations filter out to build up the numbers toward the endgame, and we get all of the heavyweights by the end.
    Good? Bad?

Could work, big picture would help Reigns get over, smaller picture ruins any rub you might be able to give midcarders like Neville or Kalisto if they're getting unceremoniously heaved over the top.

How do we feel about a Wyatt Lesnar Mania build? I can't decide.

Word is around the Internets that the E is somewhat concerned about the proliferation of injuries, so they're really trying to keep them quiet. Which also explains why Team Bad came out tonight, and not one word on Sasha.
