I think the law firm of Devil, Tony and Baron would dominate that thread.

Puhleeze. Calling my posts dumb is the de facto response when you don't actually have an argument against what I wrote.

You know, Baron, incorrectly using "de facto" doesn't exactly help your cause here.

De facto is a phrase used to denote things that are in reality factual truth, even if not officially acknowledged as such. So are you admitting that your posts are in fact dumb? I presume not. Try another word.

Maybe he meant "du jour." Maybe.

    I'll go with "du jour."

Shitty word usage aside, my point stands. When I make a point and certain people can't figure out a response, the typical ( :)) response is to call it dumb. Take the response on the last abortion thread on my point about how Christmas is a bigger holiday than the celebration of Christ's conception, for instance.

You're right, that was a great point.

People call the things you say dumb because 1) they are dumb, and 2) the effort required to unpack exactly why they are dumb is not worth it.

You are so proud of this awful Christmas analogy. It's painful to watch.

If you really want me to explain why it's dumb, I can, but you should really look for it within yourself for your own good.

Except it's not an analogy, it's real life.

Many Christians say they're against abortion because they believe life begins at conception.

Yet, their own religion doesn't practice that philosophy as it comes down to how they weigh the importance of the birth of their deity vs. the conception of their deity.

So how is that reality dumb? When I first thought about it, I had asked any Christian on here to explain the discrepancy. All I got in response was you saying it was dumb. So go ahead and explain it, like I had first asked anyone to do.

It's called the fucking "Immaculate Conception." I'd say that means they hold the conception aspect of it in pretty high regard.

Edit: Also, I'm not a Christian.

I don't know what date my oldest kid was conceived, which makes it kinda hard to celebrate that day. That certainly doesn't shape my opinion of abortion one way or the other.
