He'd likely have more 50 pt nights if his team wasn't so damn good. Usually when Curry explodes in the first half he doesn't play much in the second half. He's sat out the entire 4th quarter in nearly a third of their games this year, yet he's still averaging 30 ppg.

The Wizards deserve some credit for that 51 by keeping the game close enough to keep Curry on the floor this time.

I know that this is a miniscule problem, but there have been many nights this year when a team comes into LA and plays the Clippers one night and the Lakers the following night (or vice versa).

One of the advantages of playing at home is that you get teams on the second night of a back-to-back, flying in from Portland, or Phoenix. You get them tired. LA seems to be getting ripped off.

Minnesota played the Lakers on Tuesday night, stayed in their hotel room, and played the Clippers Wednesday night.

They also get an extra night of partying in LA which may be a bigger advantage to the home team than flying

Yeah, everyone's arms are so tired after flying all that way.

Possible rule change against hacking: After a player attempts a certain number of free throws (20 sounds like a high enough number to be more than just a physical game), he gets three to make two like in the old days. On non-shooting fouls only.

Hacking is an intentional foul. 2 shots and possession

Then every foul committed by the trailing team in the final minute would be two shots and possession and hardly any game would go to the buzzer, killing the league.

Most fouls, even the ones at the rim, are "intentional." The term isn't even used in basketball anymore except by 40-year-old moms at high school games.

Want to eliminate purposefully fouling? penalize it so it doesn't pay.

Giving a targeted player three to make two is a pretty significant penalty. It turns a 50-percent foul shooter into a 66.7-percent shooter. That's enough to wipe out the reward for the risk.
