Sure, but did Obama insist that Bush shouldn't nominate anyone because Bush only had three years left to his term?

Yes, Obama's whining is going to be epic.

He'll nominate someone. And that nomination won't pass. Count on it.

You pinko white knights using the term butthurt derisively - you do understand its context, right?

One other question that should be asked to Cruz, Trump, Rubio, etc.

Are they willing to make a pledge that If elected president and the same situation arose as it is now, are they willing to forfeit any nominations until after the next election. I'd like to see if any of them would have the guts to answer the question affirmatively.

They'll to a man say "Yes," because it's politically expedient, eight years is a long way away, and the odds that any of them will get to be a two-termer are slim and none and Slim just left town.

In the modern nomination era - since Bork, I guess - has this ever happened, wherein a "liberal" or "conservative" justice steps down/dies and the President in office gets to try to flip the seat? I figured it would happen eventually. My money was on a possible President Cruz, Rubio, or Trump replacing Ginsburg.
