Unfortunately I had to work, so wife was alone at home with the baby. Flower delivery helped, but still kinda sucked.

Pho 75 in Falls Church is the best I've had in the DC area. But I'm willing to try Pho Kim just because of the name.

How do you know you're getting the real deal and that it's not faux pho?

If you are in a new relationship and want some tips for next Valentine's Day, read this thread and make sure not to do anything on it unless you are ordering Asian food!!

I got in the doghouse on the 13th, 14th and 15th.

BTW, this thread was weak compared to previous years.

The pho discussion was good tho.

Pho 75 in Arlington is my favorite. I've been on a bit of a ramen kick lately, but a good bowl of pho always hits the spot.

I love pho, but I refuse to pronounce it as 'fuh.'
I always say pho; just like I always say gyro and not 'hero.'

By the way, Pho Sure in Valencia is really, really good, although I cannot endorse that silly name.

What the fuh? Surely you mean yeero!

    Hero, yeero ...
    I say gyro.

I don't give Greek or Vietnamese people are hard time for mispronouncing English words.

When I hear Americans hyper-pronouncing non-English words, I think of this:

Watch NBC News' Spanish Pronunciation from Saturday Night Live on NBC.com

When I worked at the community college, we had a Spanish instructor - not of Spanish or Hispanic descent - who really worked her Spanish pronunciations into as many conversations as possible. It came across as so ridiculous.

I always thought it sounded stupid, too. Which is why, even though I took several years of Spanish in HS and college, I was ALWAYS self-conscious when I actually tried to speak it.
