BTW, I recently heard a very funny analogy on the radio about the perceptions of Sanders and Hillary.

Bernie is that eccentric but endearing grandpa you never had. Hillary is that nagging, nasty ex-wife too many of us have.

I'm not sure that the analogy would be nearly as "funny" if one has a vagina.

If Jeb Bush had managed to scare off every primary opponent except Rand Paul, wouldn't he be cruising to the nomination right now?

Hillary scared off everyone except for a guy who had to register as a Democrat just to run against her - a self declared Socialist- and she can't put him away.

Bush is only doing worse because he has more competition.

OK, but that matters. It didn't happen by accident.

Because the right-wing media had spent seven years pumping sheer outrage and obstructionism, and Bush doesn't and hasn't ever given off that vibe. Donald Trump is the comments section of those various media -- FNC, the radio, the blogs, the blaze -- in human form. He articulates the rage of a group mined for their rage.

The person who has no business being in the race in Ted Cruz. He's almost solely a product of the right-wing media. None of his actual colleagues can stand him. If he weren't there, Bush would have a chance. Cruz has taken a chunk of the Bush voters, since Cruz is presented as "oh, he's still a red-blooded asshole, which is what America needs, but he's not Trump."

GOP voters have been waiting to vote for a big-mouthed, talk show host for years. They've got two from which to choose.
