Trump cheats at golf - the ONE and ONLY politics thread

The actual policy differences between Clinton and Sanders are relatively small, certainly smaller than those of Trump and all the other Republicans. But this election sure hasn't been about issues and policy to date. It's about feelings. Sanders' voters feel like they're better people for supporting him. Trump's voters are enjoying a hearty "fuck you" to about the entire rest of the world. I believe many voters of all ideologies have given up on the idea elections can change anything, so they're just picking whichever candidate gives them the warmest inner glow.

 

I don't know much about the broadcast networks because I never watch their "news" shows. I'm talking about the same fringe left groups as the fringe right that supports Gump.

 

The other side of the coin is that Clinton plainly has better command of the issues in general than Sanders does, but she is, in plain terms, simply not very likeable. She's not a good politician. She's a policy wonk.

I'm not sure that her campaign manager would not be well off to have her say so, pretty much in so many words.

 

Maybe he'll be judged poorly by idiots. That's fine. We really don't care what idiots think.

 

Already a higher approval rating than Obama.

Hillary may or may not have a better grasp of the issues, but she's thoroughly Clinton. Choosing the politically expedient positions over what may be her true beliefs and not having the courage of any convictions. Her health care task force as First Lady was a failure. , a job she never should have had as she was completely unqualified AND politically ham handed, Rather than creating either a solid model of a national policy she jumbled together thoughts of everyone until no one was happy. Wrong about the Iraq War. Wrong about gay marriage. Under critical of Wall Street and the housing loan crisis banks. On the big issues of the times she's been wrong, not because she didn't know any better, but because being right was less important than being politically viable. She was a show pony as Secty of State. Lots of travel, lots of pictures and no progress in the Middle East, Asia, Korea, Russian relations, Chinese relations of even South American relations. No one could accomplish a lot, but she did nothing. I'm sorry but even the people she surrounds herself with a scurrilous bunch of paranoid snobs. It's all personal fidelity, not National fidelity.

Bernie would try to change the country to the more to the left than Reagan did to right. But he's completely honest about what he wants and where he wants the country to go.

 

The fringe right media is mainstream right media.

 

Well, picking a fight with the Pope is not exactly traditional campaign strategy. Trump reminds me of a Simpsons episode where for some reason Homer winds up playing golf at the country club. Guest star Tom Kite says, "You know Homer, the customary way to cheat at golf is to LOWER your score."
