Already been explained to you how it's different about a half dozen times already.

Already been explained to you -- BY DOZENS, including some of the board's leading left-wingers -- that you're both wrong and a hypocrite.

No, they've said that what the Democrats did was the same exact thing as Republicans are doing now. I've pointed out how it is different. NOBODY has yet refuted as to WHY I'm wrong about how it is different, except to say that I'm stupid.

So once again, for the seventh time now, without name-calling or "other people already explained" sloganeering, tell me. Why am I wrong about how Obama's filibuster shows him being willing to go on record, while Republicans are not, and why Biden's full motivation, which goes beyond a two-minute video snippet, is different that Republicans' motivations. Your turn. Go.

Is Tony the Baron of the right, or is Baron the Tony of the left?

Both are mocked by posters who are on the same political side as them.

I'm just confused as to what the "record" is? Is the Congressional Record the only place where the "record" exists? Public statements don't make the "record?"

To me, it's either voting on the nominee, or filibustering the nominee.

Otherwise, the rest of the GOP can just hide behind their party's decision.

So, serious question here since I love the political intrigue of this whole scandal.
Let's say the Senate really does intend to sit on its hands here for the next 11 months. What do you think the reaction would be if Obama nominates someone for consideration and the Senate ignores him out right?
There's bound to be mounting anger right?
As long as the Dems keep this in the national spotlight (Which they will,) the Republicans have to give in right?
Moreover, if I were Obama in this situation, I would literally veto each and every bill that came across my desk until a hearing was scheduled. Tell the nation this is, by far, the most important issue going on in the country and you won't be dictated to by a Senate that refuses to do its job and hold a hearing to consider the nominee.
The drama to that scenario would be amazing to watch to see who blinks first.

As I've said before, GOP is in between rock and hard place. Approve Obama's candidate, and their base goes even more crazy. Not approve Obama's candidate, and the rest of the nation gets pissed.

So they're trying Door No. 3, which is stick their fingers in their ears and go la-la-la and then blame Obama for trying to do his Constitutional duty.

As I wrote, senators are already on the record. Which senators have stayed quiet? I'll argue it doesn't matter. How many voters care enough that this factors into their vote choice? This only matters to those who think politics boils down to castigating the opposition as meanypants hypocrites while their side is spotless.

Republicans can just keep replaying the Biden and Schumer videos and showing Obama's votes on Alito and Roberts and his vote on filibustering Alito. As long as the Democrats want to bring it up, shove their own record in their faces.

See key word there is Obama actually voted. McConnell says no vote.
