Polling doesn't suggest it. RealClearPolitics - Election 2016 - General Election: Trump vs. Clinton

You think the Democratic base came out big for Obama the last two times? I'd bet they'll come out even more Clinton. All you'll hear in the summer is attacks is Trump's previous statements about murderers and rapists, banning Islam, etc. I'm sure he'll continue to run his mouth and add fresh ones too. I'm sure he'd still clear 40 percent but there doesn't seem to be any way he could actually win unless Clinton has severe missteps. It'd be every bit the electoral college landslide of 2012.

This is undoubtedly true considering it'll be Trump vs. Clinton.

It won't be his bluster that wins. That will be a negative this time. It will be the anti-Hillary vote, if anything. He is going to get exposed for his policy deficiencies pretty badly.

Keep in mind I'm talking about the current Trump. It's certainly possible he reins it in a little in the general, gets educated, and displays some grasp of the issues.

Thanks for the explanation, you d-bag you.
Your remark came at a time I was dealing with some shit here so it did not come off that way.
But you've always been a decent guy/poster (unless I'm wrong) so I will take you at your word. And will give you bonus points if you can stop this Trump thing
    Signed,

His bluster is driving this bus to crazytown. His lack of specifics are perfect as it allows supporters to see whatever they want. If a debate moderator tries to pin him down on policy, he will tweet the media is unfair and threaten to ditch the next debate. We'll spend a week talking about versus his lack of specificity.

That won't work in a general. It didn't work for Sarah Palin.

I think it's possible people have been hearing what a raving, shrill bitch Hillary Clinton is for 25 years. Then they see her on the debate stage and on the stump, now that they are finally paying attention, and they think, "That's the huge c**t? She comes off as a totally competent leader."

This is an important window into the worldview of some Trump supporters.

If it bothers liberals, it must be a good thing. And, the more it does, the better.

Also, who are the running mates at this point? Trump-X vs. Clinton-X?
And are we SURE Clinton gets that nomination? Bernie the Socialist has NO shot?

Her unfavorable ratings in recent polls of all voters -- and among independents -- are similar to Trump's.

Trump would pick, well, who the hell knows? It has been reported/rumored (so hard to tell where one begins and the other leaves off) to have HUD Secretary Julian Castro on her short list.
Moddy, Bernie doesn't exactly have no shot, but Clinton's magic number is not a large one, and could get much lower after Tuesday.

But Trump isn't even a GOP person. Hillary is at least a real Dem, so the party apparatus will get behind her.
