Weighing in from the backwaters of American politics, the governor of Idaho passes on the "big 3" and endorses his buddy from Ohio:

The Idaho GOP primary (it's March 8) will be interesting in one respect: It's an extreme example of a "closed" primary, where voters have to be registered as Republican literally months in advance to participate.

It's a reaction, in part, against Gov. Otter, whom many true believers see as a RINO. So if Trump can win out here, in a primary purposely crafted to include the most rabid tea-partiers possible, it could be all over.

 

It's so Trumpian and also true.

 

I'll be interested to see who Boon, Bluto and D-Day decide to endorse. That will help me make my decision.

 

Well, we know Marmalard and all the guys at Omega are Trumpians.

Here is what I'm starting to wonder as more and more GOP types come out against him: Will they just decline to GOTV for him? You literally cannot win elections in close states without the party helping GOTV. If people aren't organizing for you, making calls, arranging rides & busses, you can't win. And you can't do it yourself. The map is too huge. I guess they'll do it to save every down ticket race there is, but I don't know that pissing off every party leader is a path to getting elected.
