Obviously I'm one of those idiots who likes Bernie. But a more "electable" candidate might be Elizabeth Warren, had she chosen to run.

No doubt there. It's the kind of party that's going to hurt in the morning.

I thought George McGovern was a hell of a candidate back in 1972. He attracted a ton of left wing support. He lost the popular vote by a 23-point margin.

No one. Not grooming a bench is actually the real problem here.

It's not like Hillary's unlikability snuck up on anyone.

What exactly makes her unlikable? Somebody needs to do a better job of articulating this, otherwise I'm writing it off as just a bunch of sexist bullshit.

I like that she's extremely competent, hard working, knowledgeable, experienced and pragmatic, even if her views are a little to the right of mine and she doesn't give a great stump speech. There's nobody in America more prepared to walk into that difficult job.

Good point. His sons too, probably.

One Facebooker's comment on Romenesko's thread:

"Whatever Chris said, it in no way justified the agent's overreaction. I trailed Chris to a firefight in central Bosnia during the civil war and know him to be a brave man as well as one of the best shooters of the last three decades. I back Chris."

She's never earned it and now bags $275k a speech.

Clinton latched onto an ambitious husband who rode his skill to the White House. She then jumped off to NY as the Senator of Wall Street and won an easy race in a left leaning state.

I'd have more respect if she ran for governor somewhere and won.

That being said, I think she will be a better president than Trump.
