Talked to my Aunt today who is liberal. She's voted Democrat in every election since '80 (she says). She vehemently argued against me not supporting Obama the last two cycles and went so far as to say race was an issue.

She is enthusiastically ready to vote for Trump in a week. Yes, she's going to declare Republican for the first time in her life in order to do so.

 

That they even questioned the utility and efficacy of tax cuts, cutting the EPA and education AND eliminating the IRS shows one just how badly they want to get rid of the orange goblin.

This shitshow of a GOP primary is a direct result. Right wing media is the most pernicious addition to our politics in the last quarter century.

 

You're entitled to your simplistic, misguided opinion.

 

There isn't anything misguided about it. Trump is all the shit of right wing media in human form. We finally got there - a force so naked in his biases and chutzpah and contriarian thought that his entire aura is a bodily sneer, that Fox News, of all entities, is to the left of this nonsense. Years of beck and Hannity and coulter and Malkin and cal Thomas and brietbart and joe the plumber and fox and friends and we've finally reached the point where trump surpasses all their bullshit.

 

Hopefully you think a little more of Trump than Glenn Beck does. Also, Trump is no different than Bernie Sanders, I read somewhere.

 

Of course beck hates trump. Trump makes beck useless. If trump is president, and beck had to play the relative centrist, who would want to listen to his blazin revisionist history?

Beck's every bit the abject failure in his industry that trump has been accused (by GOP establishment) of being in his business dealings. Beck just happened to fall into a calling as the warbling true conservative. Talk about a con artist.

Trump is loathed by most right wing media because he inches in on their territory. They're supposed to be the hyperventilating, arrogant, code-talking wing nuts, not him. He makes them irrelevant.

 

He's also much more liberal on any number of issues (like Bernie!), including social issues. That has broadened his appeal. There are a not-insignificant number of Republicans who are more socially liberal than the traditional rank and file. That helps Trump's cause. Of course, demagoguery makes no concessions for complexity, so Trump is a right-wing fanatic and so is anyone who would vote for him.
