A lot of desperate calculations being made here to show how maybe, just maybe, Trump could win the general election. It isn't going to happen folks.

YF, as Gee pointed out, you and a lot of people have an outdated sense of unions. The biggest and most politically organized unions -- unlike cops and firemen and steelworkers, the ones whose members will organize and work to get voters out -- are those like SEIU and AFSCME and teachers. Their members aren't voting for Trump.

Good to see the UFW endorse Hillary this week, too.

Same calculations would need to be made for Cruz or Rubio as well.

To whatever degree it's a problem, it's not isolated to Trump.

Those who think Trump is ruining the GOP might want to recognize that.

For all intensive purposes, you're right.

Absolutely not isolated to Trump. The GOP is fucked no matter which direction it turns. You guys have done it to yourselves, dating back to the Southern Strategy. Some of it (pandering to the lowest common denominator) helped in the short term but it was a recipe for obsolescence in the long run.

You guys should just tank this year and begin to rebuild.

Until now (it will go up as there are fewer candidates to split the vote), Trump has received a lower percentage of votes in Republican primaries and caucuses than Sanders in Democratic ones.

True. Dems mignt want to consider how much anger exists in their own ranks, and how little enthusiasm exists for their anointed front runner.

It's also an indication that neither party will ever die.

Sure, Republicans have moved to the right a little.

But, Dems, especially younger Dems, are moving to the left.

Especially as the courts decide social issues like gay marriage, and older Republicans, to whom social issues matter so much, die off, more people will identify as Republicans.

Muslim Americans choosing the Jewish guy over the neocon in the Dem primary.

    Important voting block in Michigan.

Maine's Republican caucuses started today at 9 a.m., which means exit polling should seek to determine the size of the hangover bloc among voters.
