Trump cheats at golf - the ONE and ONLY politics thread

The big new thing among Republicans is anger at Cruz, who is doing better than Rubio, because he remains determined to knock Rubio out, defeat Trump, and win the nomination.

They're especially angry at him for "competing" in Florida. That's apparently very selfish of him, though there was nothing wrong with Rubio "competing" in Texas.

Rubio supporters see an open convention as their only shot, and are furious that Cruz will not assist him in achieving this goal.

 

Huh?

 

More young people will continue to identify as Dems over Republicans, though even that should narrow as social issues become less divisive.

And, they'll continue to shift as them marry and have kids. Always happens.

Dems know that single moms, folks with no hope for economic growth, and those dependent upon government will continue to vote for them. They'll continue to attempt to grow these constituencies. The worst things for Dems are strong families, a strong economy, and decreased interest in social issues.

 

The idea that Republican party affiliation will reverse the trend and grow -- particularly as the country gets less white -- is an interesting fantasy.

 

Republicans who have declared they won't vote for Trump are angry at Cruz for refusing to quit the race, in which he is running second, to unify the party behind the guy running third.

 

They don't want to have to tell Cruz everyone hates him.

In fairness, he should know that by now.

 

The electorate will always be spit between the two parties.

When one dominates for a period, it inevitably moves too far from the political center, sending those in the center back to the opposition party.

 

I probably like Rubio best, and think he'd be a good general election candidate. (Much better than Cruz, much differ not than Trump.)

But, his supporters are delusional. He's in third place. He probably won't win his home state. And, they're angry at Cruz for not agreeing to their election strategy.

 

I know ... it's just awesome that it's predicated on the fact that they don't feel like saying "NOBODY'S GOING TO CHOOSE YOU, ASSHOLE!"

 

My thoughts on the GOP candidates aside, I really can't believe how willfully and blatantly the "party establishment" is disregarding the will of the voters.

 

If Hillary thinks she needs Warren as her running mate, she's in deep shit.

It would be purely a move to solidify the left wing of her party, but would send more working class voters to Trump:
