TigerVols, that would not be smart. She will need the Sanders voters come November. Let's face it, zippy campaigning is not her style. She'd only hurt herself, as Rubio did when he mimicked the Trump insult comic routine.

Her nodding tic after she declares something, combined with Cruz's weird laugh after he declares something, is going to drive me bonkers over the summer and fall, should it come to them.

Because they went for a guy based on his skin color.

That's not an argument for them being sophisticated voters.

They voted for Obama because he's black.

They're voting for Hillary because she's famous.

It's really that simple. They don't love her.

She's beating Bernie by 60 points in the states with the largest black populations.

    Yes.

Does that dispute anything I've said?

The Republican Party is really stupid.

The only guy they have that has a prayer of winning in November is Trump.

Ted Cruz will get destroyed and here is why --- he will pander too often to the lunatic right win social issues and that will bury him in just about every state that isn't still angry that the Dukes of Hazzard was cancelled by TV Land because the case is insensitive......

Republicans need to understand this - right or wrong - they are on the losing side of the argument when it comes to the homosexual marriage stuff and when it comes to the more hard-core pro-life stances.

Cruz has made these a central part of his campaign.

Kasich probably would have a chance too but he isn't conservative enough - at least that is perception -- to survive the primary.

Trump actually has a chance to win and mostly because he is the one candidate who may be able to get the rust belt states to change back to red for this election.

Let's look at it this way Dick...

You've made the case that Trump is doing as well as he is because he's famous, and I don't disagree with you. But, Trump's voters have also convinced themselves that he's the one guy who can fix America's problems. He's going to break up the establishment.

There's no one who could run against him that would take his vote away from his supporters. Not George W. Bush, not Mitt Romney, not the ghost of Ronald Reagan.

Trump's supporters are dedicated to him. They think he's the answer to their prayers.

    What about Hillary's voters?

If President Obama were able to run for a third term, what percentage of the vote would Hillary Clinton have gotten against him in Mississippi last night?

These are not her voters. They're willing to vote for her. They are most familiar with her. But, they don't love her.

A vote cast with less than total enthusiasm counts just as much as one cast with it.

    OK.

I concede every last one of your points.

    Now: So what?

Of course it does. I haven't argued anything different.

But, she's not winning Mississippi or South Carolina in the general election, and she's struggling in places like New Hampshire and Michigan where she does need to win.

She'll likely need record turnout to be Trump in November. Nothing about this primary campaign indicates that people will come out in record numbers to vote for her.

Maybe they'll come out in record numbers to vote against Trump. That's very possible. But, Trump will shift in a general election. And, he'll make an appeal to disaffected Democrats on issues like trade and immigration.

He'll also beat up on Hillary.

    It's going to be close.

Polling shows her beating him right now, but it's already close. It will only get closer.

YF, Obama can and will campaign for Hillary this fall. He himself will get a lot of those people back to the polls. He just isn't choosing sides in the primary.

    Nothing?

I just think you've been giving Hillary more credit than you've been giving Trump.
