Just as a warning, your intrepid pool-runner is going to SXSW in Austin on Thursday for a week. So the pool will likely be late (and be determined on my limited free time to watch it online). Carry on the conversation without me though.

Man, I would have been scared out of my wits this week. It also made me wonder just how dangerous is dangerous in TAR's eyes?

The challenges seem scary, but safe. The contestants were tethered in pretty well in the Alps. But I agree, I don't know that I could have done either of those.
Massive props to Cole and his mom for overcoming their fears.

I've wondered this in the past, as well. I wonder how, and really, if, shows can and do protect themselves from the possibility of a truly bad, injurious, or worse, outcome of some of these challenges.

Really, the things the participants have to do sometimes seem beyond just for the outdoorsy or for the adventurous-minded.

I love The Amazing Race, and it's premise of trying get people to go beyond what they think they can ever do, but I do wonder what the parameters are for the tasks. Surely there are some in place? What would be off-limits, either for safety considerations, or moralistic reasons?

THIS is why TAR started shooting in HD. Holy crap, the visuals.

Also, I'm terrified of heights but I would have been so jazzed to get up there on top the Alps. Sign me up for the next paragliding adventure.

Also, because of NCAA's, there are no TARs the next two weeks. Phil Keoghan did preview on Twitter that the next episode will be the Race's first trip to Armenia.

A-I want another leg in Armenia.
B-It would have been cold to eliminate Sheri and Cole, who ran their best leg yet until an oil filter (and an inability to remember "lefty loosey, righty tighty") foiled them. Yay non-elimination!
C-I would have rocked that rug challenge.
D-Tyler and Korey had better step it up.
E-Am I the only one who would have paid money to see Blair change the oil?
