The problem with that is that everybody hates the smarmy, self-serving SOB.

Shoeless Joe Jackson: "Ty Cobb wanted to play, but none of us could stand the son-of-a-bitch when we were alive, so we told him to stick it!"

He does have an economics degree, but to be fair, how do you know? I don't even know Trumps economic plan. All I hear is "everything is going to be great". I do know Bernie's, it's Keynesian on steroids. If after 80 years of Keynesian demand side economics hasn't taught how idiotic it is, if our economy crashing in 2007 hasn't taught us how destructive it is, nothing will.

Unless Ted Cruz catches fire (I would support that, come to think of it), the best hope for the GOP establishment to save face and Dump Trump would be to quietly make sure that some decent third-party candidate suddenly appears to siphon enough voters away from Trump.

You would ensure Hillary wins, but it would keep Trump out of the White House and make it appear like you were playing fair all along.

That's eerily reminiscent of Couric asking Palin what newspapers she reads to keep up on world affairs. He couldn't come up with a single name other than his own.

I don't think they have to do it quietly if they want to do it. The GOP has made it startlingly clear they do not want to support Trump as their candidate.

Can we talk about Joe Scarborough's hair for a second?

It appears he's wearing a gigantic S.O.S. pad on his head.

Well, since the GOP seems so out of touch, thought deniability might be a good thing.
