She's just the only nominee I can think of who was torpedoed by her/his own side.

But, yes, he sounds like a good pick, and she was not.

I think McConnell is outsmarting himself here. If the Senate considered the nomination, hearings, etc., and then voted Garland down, the average not much interest in politics voter would say "that's politics."
But by not even considering it, the attack line is changed to "those lazy gutless SOBs won't even do their job" which goes directly to the popular stereotype of Congress.

Also, probably, because working at a big law firm sucks and working as a prosecutor would probably be awesome.

You've turned the page on, "Do you believe that ...," huh?

    Good for you.

It's not a stereotype, it's a fact. And it plays into Trump's hands, and his argument that the Government is broken on both sides. As Luggie noted, that's an epic set up by President Obama.

I have a Batman utility belt filled with SJ.comisms. None are ever retired. All are used whenever appropriate.

    I rate your post a 6.

Trump's solution to the über partisan COngress is to unite them behind someone so dispicable, so disgusting and so disassociated from rationality that they rise up in unison and Amend the Constitution to bar game show hosts from being President

Surely, even that dumbshit recognizes the audacious ratfuckery in loudly proclaiming "the American people" should have a voice in selecting the next justice while his party is actively and openly planning to silence and overrule its own primary voters.

I'm not sure that he is self-aware enough to realize that unless it is pointed out to him.

He knows it and doesn't give a shit. All that matters is giving extreme right wingers no reason to primary Republican incumbents. Kentucky will never elect another Democrat to statewide office as the voters have been traumatized by having to live under an African-American President.
