Legitimate question because I do not know but is Sanders really a socialist? I know he says he is but does he want to nationalize a bunch of industries?

The conservative leaning folks up here always used "socialist" and "socialism" as pejoratives but I have not seen or heard anything that makes me think Bernie is a true socialist. I haven't looked real hard either.

    He's freshman-year-in-college socialist.

Sanders would be a right-winger in Sweden. It doesn't matter what he calls himself, now, though. He'll go back to being the crabby progressive senator.

Because a big meme on the far left is that we can provide "free college" just like other countries, including some of those in Scandanavia.

But, here, we are talking about universal free college. That's not what they have.

And, if you want universal free college, the tax burden would be higher than that of Scandanavia. (And, we haven't even addressed their minuscule defense budgets.)

The financial statements he's already released would be more informative in these matters than his tax returns.

I just love Salon's Twitter feed. The concern trolling is fantastic.

I agree, universal free college is unrealistic now adays. But the message resonated with kids going through school now or have just finished because of the rising debt loads people are taking on just to get an education. For example, when I started at San Jose State about 15 years ago now, the tuition fees (not counting cost of the dorm and books) was less than $1,000 ($800 and something IIRC) per semester. Now it costs about $3,700 per semester, not counting housing, books and other college costs. Throw in books and housing and you're looking at $26,000 to $27,000 per year (according to SJSU's list of fees). That's really what Millennials are upset about. College is way more expensive and you get less out of if today (with fewer classes offered) than even 15 years ago. Twist their arms and you'd probably get most to agree they should pay something but they really don't want to go into debt for life to go to school.

And Trump keeps egging them on, instead of being the calm person in the room.

The first time a protester interrupted him, he should have said, "It's OK, everyone. He's just someone who lost a lot of money in my casino." He'd get some laughs, the protester would taken out of the building and everyone moves on.

Instead, he talks about how he wants them beaten up and carried out on stretchers. He's making the atmosphere worse.
