William McKinley's fans want to know why their man isn't getting as much respect. After all, if it wasn't for his hard work, Teddy Roosevelt wouldn't have gotten the Roughriders their scholarships.

From the perspective of violence and threats, I disagree. From the perspective of crazy shit stemming from the election, the election of 1800 and 1860 were worse, thus far, but I agree to some extent.

Hillary is coming here to fund raise with John Grisham. How long before his stance on child porn is brought up? I mean, YF is going to be busy. ;)

Presidential hooliganism was so much better back in the day. It doesn't take a lot of sack to beat someone up or raise a stink, knowing everyone has passed through a metal detector.

Cruz is right to be wary. Not only has the Republican leadership treated him like a redheaded stepchild throughout his political career, but their track record of supporting candidates this primary season is about as strong as the Browns' when drafting a quarterback. As soon as the "Establishment" gets behind someone, the rank and file turns on them and they go down in flames.
The leadership got behind Jeb, and he tanked. They got behind Rubio, and his moderately strong support evaporated overnight. They went to Kasich, who never had much support to begin with, and people are ready to revolt.
The rank and file Republicans want an outsider, for better or for worse. Cruz and Trump are the only ones who can still legitimately make the claim that they fit that description, which is why they're the last two standing. They'll have to reconcile the outsider status with the party leadership's backing eventually, but doing it right now might be suicidal -- especially for Cruz, who is trying to play catch-up but still has a viable path to the nomination.

Sasse does need to decide whether America is great. On one hand, he says it's the greatest country ever. On the other, he suggests we have to make America great again.
