    Father of mine
Tell me where have you been?
You know I just closed by eyes
    My whole world disappeared
    Father of mine
Take me back to the day
Yeah, when I was still your golden boy
    Back before you went away

    How is it relevant?

Then it's safer - though not foolproof - to assume Nightengale's sources are telling the truth? Agreed.

It's safest not to let anonymous sources self-servingly quote other anonymous sources.

Bias is always relevant. I shouldn't have to explain that to you.

His "reporting" is second hand Alma. What could "Bob's" editors confirm?

At least Ben Bradlee knew the identity of Deap Throat.

    Bob's editors don't know shit.

In YF's case here, either his argument stands or it falls. His alleged bias is utterly irrelevant. I shouldn't have to explain that to you.

    You're a piece of work.

You agree with me, yet find a way to criticize me, rather than Alma.

No. Because "Bob" has no sources.

Bob answered the phone, and dutifully transcribed what management sources told him.

Unless you choose to believe that bob exhausted his Rolodex, and the only people who would speak to him, even anonymously, were management types, passing along second hand information.

Did Bob even attempt to confirm his findings with a single member of the team?

Then you must truly think them decrepit, to run such a piece.

I do. It was an embarrassment.

It isn't alleged bias. It is very real, and it colors the assumptions he is making regarding the reporting of this story. You didn't explain anything because you were too busy allowing the point to sail over your head.
