What is your source for this account of Nightengale's reporting?

"Bob's" lack of detail in telling us how he "reported" the story, as well as the fact that all of his "sources" could be similarly categorized, and all sold him the same second hand narrative.

He's a shill and an embarrassment.

I understand that what I'm engaging in right now is akin to banging my head against a concrete wall. But ... what "assumptions"? Nightengale doesn't quote a player. He doesn't even quote anonymous players. He quotes anonymous "officials." It's right there in black and white. It's not an "assumption."

Is it responsible reporting to quote anonymous management sources who recite for you the vague actions/words unidentified players who allegedly back management's version of the story?

What does the "bias" of the questioner have to do with the answer to that question?

Someone is going to have to watch a movie soon. Then immediately go to bed.

You know, for all the head-banging you're doing, you don't seem to have a clue that you might actually -- get this -- be WRONG. Absolutely fucking WRONG.

The relevance of the bias, Dick. The bias colors everything that person writes about journalists or journalism. I know you get that. You've got a little of that in yourself.

If YF never existed, this would still be lazy #journalism. An individual's bias doesn't change the facts.

It's irrelevant. It's an ad hominem attack. An argument either stands or falls on its own merits. How does YF's "bias" have anything to do with whether those 20 inches appearing in USA Today were properly sourced?

I'm a fan of good journalism.

That I have a higher standard for what that includes than actual journalists is upsetting.

Just a guess here, but YF is probably exposed to more journalism on a daily basis than most of us. And I bet he's only critical of a small percentage.

There are certainly people who assume "the media sucks." YF is not one of them.
