Kicking myself for not seeing The Martian on a big screen. Great uplifting, roller-coaster ride of a story. I enjoyed every second of it, including all of the '70s music.

That best part of this flick was getting to see Patti Lupone's then late-40s rack and Mike Starr getting in a quick suck.

I, too, came away impressed by "Rush" and thought Daniel Bruhl, in particular, was outstanding.

OK, laugh, but I finally saw "Thelma and Louise" today. I didn't have a clue what to expect, yet was still surprised at the quirkiness of many of the characters. IIRC, this was one of the first significant roles in Brad Pitt's career and though he wasn't as off the wall as in "Burn After Reading," I was reminded of it.

Sarandon-great, Davis-great, Keitel-very good and I thought Christopher McDonald was hilarious as the husband.

    The ending is a downer.

I've probably said this before on this thread, but I'll say it again - "Rush" might be Ron Howard's best film. If it's not, it's an incredibly close second to "Apollo 13."

    'Night Shift' is No. 1.
All others are No. 2 or lower.

    Top 5, I'd go:
    Apollo 13
Rush (in a virtual dead heat with Apollo 13)
    A Beautiful Mind
    Backdraft
    Parenthood

(Note: I haven't seen Frost/Nixon, which I suspect is probably on the list, but I couldn't properly place it without having seen it.)

You don't even have 'Night Shift' in the top 5?
    You crazy.

Black Hawk Down. What a Clusterfuck.

tbf, were you mixed up in that? I'm sure you crossed paths with some who were - perhaps Durant who did a lot of training of other pilots later on.

  12. I take it you have never seen Backdraft?
