Brussels explosions, at least 13 dead

I think it's odd how juxtaposed the reactions to violence are depending on who does it and where and who is talking about it.

Dozens killed in Brussels or San Bernardino and there's an immediate call to close borders, step up surveillance of certain groups and fund more security. Dozens killed in Newtown or Aurora or D.C. and people say nothing can be done about it, but maybe we should do more to help the mentally ill.

 

Couldn't they just lie about all that to get in?

 

Care to tell me what organized group or religion the killers from Aurora, Newtown or D.C. were from?

 

Come on, YF, what's worse -- a bunch of women getting assaulted, or not doggedly obeying your ideology? Is stopping rape and terrorism going to make everyone agree with you? No. So why bother putting any thought into it? Just stick to the talking points and keep your head safely in the sand.

You may not be aware, but Islamic extremism has been a serious and growing worldwide problem for more than two decades now. As horrifying as any mass killing is, there's a huge difference between the random nutjob taking innocent lives and the latest organized attack on the ideals by which most of us live. But again, maybe you were unaware.

 

Maybe, just maybe, these folks seeking martyrdom have more in common with those guys than with the Prophet Mohammed.

Dude, people declare there's a WAR ON CHRISTIANITY!!!! if cashiers wish shoppers "Happy holidays" instead of saying "Merry Christmas." What do you think would happen if any if the government tried doing any of these things to Christians?

 

What is the huge difference? People get randomly killed either way.
