Sounds like a plan. Insist on school prayer? See ya. Pushing for vouchers as a way to take more funding away from public schools and spend it on private ones, including those that offer a religious education? Don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya.

 

Once again, this is religious discrimination. These are exactly the type of arguments that were brought up against other minorities in this country as an excuse for bigotry.

You are holding these people to standards that many Americans don't meet. There are plenty of non-Muslims who can't handle seeing a gay couple hold hands in public. There are plenty of men who are currently American citizens who have used the way a woman dressed as an excuse for sexual assault or other unacceptable behavior.

 

We have every right to expect new immigrants to meet certain standards. It only makes sense that we would.

So if a new Muslim immigrant wouldn't feel comfortable seeing the 10 Commandments in front of a courthouse, you wouldn't let them immigrate?

I don't give a shit what you believe in. I care that you are capable of integration. Isn't that what we're supposed to want? Integration?

If someone has beliefs that are incompatible with our way of life, to the degree that they wouldn't be able to integrate, and in fact might resort to violence to try and impose their values, then we shouldn't let them into our country.

 

If it would make them so uncomfortable that they'd want to blow up the courthouse, yes?
